The next level, do you have what it takes?
Northeastern University's Huntington Management Consulting is a Northeastern University undergraduate student organization dedicated to transforming its students into the business leaders of tomorrow. The organization is focused on management consulting and strategy, and it provides participants with real-world experience in an intensely competitive environment.
Northeastern University's Huntington Management Consulting was established in 1997 as the Northeastern University team to compete in the B-School Beanpot Case Analysis Competition. Coached by Northeastern University Associate Professor, Raymond M. Kinnunen “Coach K,” the team competed in the competition that was hosted annually by Boston University until 2009. As a result of the success, winning the Beanpot trophy and cash prize 11 out of 13 years, the team started receiving invitations to participate in other competitions and began traveling nationally and internationally to compete against other elite business schools from all over the world. The team officially changed its name in 2010 to Northeastern University's Huntington Management Consulting to reflect this new direction.
In addition to competing, Northeastern University's Huntington Management Consulting works with businesses in the surrounding Boston area to develop customized solutions that resolve these organizations’ issues and to help create lasting competitive advantages. In the past, NUHMC has worked with organizations like TechMission, a Christian non-profit that aims to use technology to transform vulnerable communities, and Revels Inc, a national arts organization that produces community-based theater shows. NUHMC continues to search for new opportunities to work directly with local businesses in the Boston area.
The NUHMC Advantage
One of the most important components of Northeastern University's Huntington Management Consulting is the support and guidance that the students get from those associated with the organization, including faculty, alumni, and fellow students. NUHMC builds upon the skills and training that students receive in both the classroom and in NU’s renowned co-op program to help better prepare them for the challenges they will face in the workforce. Also, NUHMC has an extensive alumni network, with many of its former members occupying executive positions in different fields all across the business world.
