Northeastern University alumna and D’Amore-McKim School of Business staff member Nina Angeles, SSH’15, will aim to identify how social entrepreneurship can better the economic positions of refugee communities in Jordan with her recently awarded Fulbright Scholarship.

This will be Angeles’ third time visiting the country, as she spent her first co-op at the Jordan River Foundation in 2012 and completed a senior research project running an English language program for young Palestinian refugees in 2014.

She hopes to share her findings from the experience with those looking to address the refugee crisis.

“I want my work to be actionable and have value for the people I’m working with,” says Angeles. “I received a great deal of hospitality when I was there before, and I want to return that. And I think I’m well positioned to do this, based on my previous experience.”
