Retirement Accounts To Get Taper Boost

“The stock market may be headed for a downfall soon”, according to Harlan Platt, professor of finance at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business. The Federal Reserve announced in December that it would start to purchase $10 billion less of bonds each month starting this January. The tapering of the Fed's quantitative easing program artificially suppresses interest rates. By keeping interest rates low, the Fed is hoping to help the economy to, “make a soft landing and to date it appears to be working.”
