'Super Saturday' brings crowds, deals for last-minute shoppers

The economic situation has impacted what parents spend during the holiday season, so many take advantage of 'Super Saturday' for last-minute bargains.

The last Saturday before Christmas brings large crowds out to shop and several stores with sales and deals. The nation’s current economic situation definitely has affected the Christmas shopping season tremendously. Data from Ebay Deals shows that 45% of parents plan to gift their children five toys or less, while 60% of parents intend to spend less than $200 on presents for their kids. According to associate professor of marketing at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Bruce Clark, “consumer confidence remains fragile and unemployment continues to be a drag on spending.
