Research & Teaching Interests
Professor Villanueva has primary research interests in the areas of international finance, asset pricing, econometrics, investment strategies, and portfolio management. He has published in the "Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis," the "Financial Review," and the "Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money". He currently teaches MBA courses in International Finance and Global Managerial Economics.
Industry & Academic Experience
Miguel's experience includes tenure-track positions at Brandeis University and the University of Wyoming. He then joined State Street Global Advisors as a Vice President of the Advanced Research Center where he led quantitative investment projects on global bonds and currencies. He is currently Senior Quantitative Analyst at Crowninshield Financial Research LLC, Wellesley, MA where he leads the quant research agenda, including security litigation econometric studies.
Services to the Profession
Miguel has served as academic referee for the National Science Foundation, Financial Review, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Financial Markets and Portfolio Management, among others. He also serves pro-bono as a member of the Finance Council of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Sharon, MA.
