Professor Margotta's interests include Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Corporate Governance.

Industry & Academic Experience

Professor Margotta served as an instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining the CBA faculty in 1983. He was previously employed as corporate manager of marketing with Huyck Corporation, business manager for paper markets with Mallinckrodt, Inc., and product development supervisor with National Starch and Chemical Corporation.

Services to the Profession

Professor Margotta is a member of the American Finance Association. He has served as a member of the Commission to Review Massachusetts Takeover Laws and as a consultant to several Fortune 500 companies on issues pertaining to corporate governance. He has also served as an expert witness in more than 15 cases in defense of state takeover laws, poison pills, and in 10-b 5 cases involving "fraud on the market".
