Research & Teaching Interests

Professor Marano’s research explores the practice adoption, organizational legitimacy and performance of multinational corporations from both developed and developing countries. Her teaching interests include international strategy, international business, international management, and corporate social responsibility.

Industry & Academic Experience

Prior to joining academia, Professor Marano worked for several organizations in the academic, public and nonprofit sectors on economic development issues, cross-sector partnerships and on the creation of educational initiatives.

Services to the Profession

Professor Marano serves as ad hoc reviewer for Strategic Management Journal, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, International Business Review, and Journal of Business Ethics. She is a regular reviewer at the Academy of Management (AOM) and Academy of International Business (AIB) annual conferences. Between 2012 and 2014 she served on the Communications Committee of the AOM's International Management Division as the Newsletter Editor.
