Each year, the Northeastern University Center for Family Business recognizes family businesses across the state with the Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards. The awards program was created to promote and highlight some of the great achievements of Massachusetts-based, family-held businesses and entrepreneurs.

Recipients of the awards are selected by a panel of independent judges based on the following criteria: business success, positive business and family linkages, multi-generational involvement, community and industry contributions, and innovative business practices or strategies.

Last year’s finalists represented a combined total of more than 1,200 years in business, with an average company age of 54 years.

The 2016 program will especially festive as we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary. For the last quarter-century, the Center for Family Business has provided the highest-quality executive education, networking, and support to business families in a confidential, non-commercial group environment.

Our keynote speaker, Michael Tougias, is a New York Times best-selling author. Michael will present "Survive and Thrive: Inspiration, goal attainment, and decision-making from those who have survived against all odds." He will also be signing copies of his best-selling book, The Finest Hours, which was recently released internationally as a major motion picture. More information about Michael and his keynote address can be found here.

Please join us for our season’s “grand finale,” celebrating distinguished Massachusetts family businesses and our milestone silver anniversary!
