Q: What do you do in your current job/what are your responsibilities?
A: I am a product manager at State Street Corporation, as part of a two year Leadership Development Program. In this role, I am responsible for supporting the strategy, user experience, client engagement, and marketing plans for a research analytics application in my firm's Global Exchange division.
Q: What skills did you build in the D'Amore-McKim MBA marketing track program that you are applying at your current job?
A: The biggest takeaway from my MBA at D’Amore-McKIm was establishing the skills to be a self-starter. Understanding the foundation of any business through the lens of finance, strategy, operations, and knowing the key questions to ask has been very instrumental. It has given me the confidence to solve problems in my job and take on new career challenges.
Q: What would you say to a colleague considering enrolling in the MBA marketing track program?
A: I would say it is one of the best career decisions they could make. The ability to learn from seasoned professors and gain experience from a corporate residency, by translating knowledge into practice, is a great value proposition not many schools can offer.
Q: Why did you choose the D'Amore-McKim track?
A: I choose Northeastern because I saw it as the best way to change my career with the support of a strong career services committed to helping students get working experience through co-ops and some of the brightest professors in the Boston area. My Dad also attended Northeastern, which added a sentimental value to my decision to enroll in the D'Amore-McKim MBA program.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: My five year goal is to be a senior executive at State Street responsible for delivering value to the clients we serve through innovative data analytics solutions. I aspire to help shape the growth and culture of the organization by using technology to solve our clients’ challenges.
