Q: What do you do in your current job/what are your responsibilities?

A: I’m a Business Operations Reporting Analyst at Santander Holdings USA and my role and responsibilities consist of providing executive level reporting to support the managing director of Technology and Operations (T&O), creating executive management dashboards and scorecards, and presenting information regarding trends, risk, and performance of all business areas of T&O.

Q: What skills did you build in the D'Amore-McKim MS in Finance program that you are applying at your current job?

A: During my time in the MSF program I gained and built upon valuable skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability. Spanish is my native language so having good communication skills in English, especially the ability to speak to current business issues and the financial industry, is very important and something that the MSF program helped me to gain. Being able to work with different teams and adapt to different environments and situations is essential to succeed in the U.S work environment and the D’Amore-McKim MSF program helped me build those skills.

Q: Would you say to a colleague considering enrolling in the MSF program?

A: I would say to them that it is a great opportunity. The curriculum of the program is very diverse and will help them gain knowledge and experience that can be an advantage towards their professional goals. Also the program will expose them to different environments and cultures that will help them grow personally and professionally.

Q: Why did you choose the D'Amore-McKim MSF?

A: I was looking for a program that could provide the knowledge and experience needed to thrive in my career and the one-year MSF program at D’Amore-McKim was exactly what I was looking for. Other aspects of D’Amore-McKim’s program that helped to solidify my decision were the fact that it had a great percentage of international students and a strong presence and reputation in the finance industry.

Q: What was your biggest take-away from earning your MSF at Northeastern?

A: The one-year MSF program allowed me to enter the workforce quickly, something I was looking for while choosing a program. Also, Northeastern is well positioned among others universities which is a plus and help to drive positive attention within companies in the United States.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: In 5 or 10 years I see myself growing professionally within the financial sector, putting all my experience and knowledge toward creating a positive impact within my work environment.
