Graduate Certificate in Business Administration for International Students

Q: What do you do in your current job/what are your responsibilities?

A: My last job opportunity was on campus, at the DRC, which serves Northeastern University students who have documented disabilities (physical/mental limitations). One of the accommodations that DRC provides is note-taking services. I was responsible for all the Human Resources process regarding hired note-takers, such as payments, organize the schedule of classes and documentation of processes; also, administrative routines like answering phone calls, emails and meeting students.

Q: What skills did you build in the D’Amore-McKim Graduate Certificate program that you are currently using on the job?

A: During the Certificate Program I was able to develop my networking and open my mind regarding the international business dynamics; I can say that I apply the knowledge I had during the Certificate on my work routine.

Q: What would you say to a colleague considering enrolling in the Graduate Certificate program?

A: I would say the Program requires a lot of dedication and effort, reading and studying the topics before in order to discuss it during classes; you'll be able to understand how different countries faces challenges and conduct their business. Besides, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you got on a job opportunity (OPT).

Q: Why did you choose the D’Amore-McKim School of Business Graduate Certificate program?

A: I wasn't sure about enrolling in a 2-years program and regret it later, so I was really looking for some program that wouldn't take too long and that could offer me an international experience both in an excellent University and in the market, as a professional.

Q: What was your biggest take-away from earning your Certificate at Northeastern?

A: The excellent networking I built both with my colleagues and professor, who were always available and willing to support me during classes and even after that. Also the international experience I was looking for, I had access to good materials and learned a lot from that.

Q: What are you doing now and how did the Certificate help you get there?

A: I just finished my Certificate and started my job searching; I'm sure the Certificate gave me all the tools to apply for a great job opportunity and succeed in it.
