"A degree from a reputable school in the States is recognized worldwide and exposes students to more opportunities, so it will be beneficial no matter where I work later in life."
Q:What skills are you building at D’Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?
A:I have been developing skills in areas specifically pertaining to my degree, such as financial analysis and general finance knowledge, and have also had the opportunity to greatly enhance my networking skills.
Q:Are you participating in any student clubs, such as 360 Huntington Fund, or IDEA? If so, could you please tell us about your experience and how it added value for you?
A:I am a member of the Northeastern University Go Club, and I also audit the 360 Huntington Fund. The Go Club is more laid back and relaxing; we play board games, card games, make new friends, and hang out outside the club as well. The 360 Huntington Fund, on the other hand, is more professional, but has given me so much knowledge about stock pitching and, perhaps even more importantly, how to sell your presentation to stakeholders.
Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?
A:First of all, Northeastern University is a great school, and its Graduate Career Center is an amazing resource. Secondly, as someone interested in pursuing a role in finance, Boston is an attractive location with lots of opportunities.
Q:Please tell us about why you chose to study in the United States, and your experience as an international student
A:I chose to study in the United States to gain a new perspective and an exciting experience. A degree from a reputable school in the States is recognized worldwide and exposes students to more opportunities, so it will be beneficial no matter where I work later in life. I have also had the opportunity to meet a diverse group of new friends, which has boosted my interpersonal skillset.
Overall, my experience as an international student studying at Northeastern has been very positive. The school offers great professors and advisors, a high degree of diversity, and a lot of fun stuff to do outside the classroom. International students are encouraged to reach out and take advantage of all the opportunities that the school has to offer. Student clubs are also a nice way to get involved and meet a mixed group, adding another layer of depth to your experience.
Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D’Amore-McKim for their business degree?
A:A graduate degree from D’Amore-McKim will accelerate you in both your career and your personal life.
Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A:In the future I see myself successfully employed in a finance role… and also the owner of a husky puppy!
