Q:What do you do in your current job/what are your responsibilities?
A:I work at McKinsey & Company as a Senior Coach for the McKinsey Implementation Practice for Latin America. I am based in Buenos Aires, but work all around South America. My roles responsibilities are to solve management problems within operations in a wide variety of industries, helping clients achieve bottom-line results by working with them from project initiation through implementation. I work side-by-side with clients to ensure that our recommendations are implemented, transforming the way of working and building client´s skills for sustained high performance.
Q: What skills did you build in the D'Amore-McKim GCTE program that you are applying at your current job?
A: The Graduate Certificate in Technological Entrepreneurship helped me to develop how to take an idea from concept to reality. While studying at D’Amore-McKim, I worked at a renewable energy startup. The skills learnt in business strategy were really useful to build business plans for new projects in the company. Regarding my job, I think that the team projects we developed in class helped me a lot to think on how to structure and communicate ideas, which really helped me to go through the interview process.
Q: What would you say to a colleague considering enrolling in the GCTE program? Why did you choose the D'Amore-McKim GCTE?
A: Northeastern is increasingly investing in entrepreneurship and innovation as a way for its students to succeed in the business place by creating disruptive and innovative ideas and business models. The D'Amore-McKim GCTE offers a wide range of very interesting courses to teach you how to take an idea from concept to reality; entrepreneurship taught by successful entrepreneurs! The school also offers one of the best business accelerators, IDEA, which offers $10K non-equity funds and mentorship for students’ ideas. If you dream about starting your own business, I believe there is no better place than D’Amore-McKim to study.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: I am passionate about sustainability, as I believe that we have the responsibility to design and commercialize our products in a smarter way, rethinking the concept of 'waste' as 'nutrients' for new products. I want to create positive impact in the world.
I see myself running my own renewable energy business, creating circular economies, where I build plants that process waste from industries and cities and transform it into energy.
