"D’Amore McKim will make you advance professionally as well as personally and will give you the perfect global exposure required to compete today."

Q:What are you studying at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business and when do you plan to graduate?

A:I was studying Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and I graduated in May 2017.

Q:What skills are you building at D’Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?

A:I have built many important skills here at D’Amore McKim. As a part of my projects, deep research about the industry, the products, the market and the entire feasibility of a firm to enter a new market has made me realize that I like such work where deep analysis of a real-world scenario is involved. By working on simulations and reading case studies, I gained an understanding of how every company strategy works and what a company can do in a particular situation where they have to make choices.

Q:Why did you choose D’Amore-McKim?

A:After gaining 3 years of working experience in India, I wanted to study business as I envisioned myself in five years as a manager or a mentor working in the same industry. To become a successful manager, I wanted to learn the business tactics and how to handle different situations in the workplace. Learning about end to end business solutions was key to understanding the practicalities of the solutions we provide to industry clients. I chose Northeastern and D’Amore-McKim for the flexibility it offers and the perfect global exposure for my field of interest.

Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D’Amore-McKim for their business degree?

A:To all the prospective business students, I only have one thing to say, if you know what you want to do in the future but are not prepared for it and do not have the confidence for it, then this is the perfect place for you to build those skills in every way possible. D’Amore-McKim will make you advance professionally as well as personally and will give you the perfect global exposure required to compete today. This place has all the resources available to enrich your skillset from brilliant faculty to the library to the teaching methodologies and to top it all - the diverse student environment.

Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A:Thinking 10 years down the line is too much nowadays in this dynamic world. But I definitely see myself down the road working for a company which is very innovative in every sense and gives complete flexibility to its employees as long as the work criteria is met. The company should encourage employees to not only work for their day to day activities but also donate their time in order to build something sustainable and innovative which will support the environment and the industry in the long run.

Q:How has D’Amore-McKim helped you?

A:Here I was involved in multiple group projects one of which was working for an actual company and delving into their business prospects in emerging markets they were targeting. The project was definitely useful for me not only professionally but also personally. I learned about the industry and the products, and at the same time, my research helped me to understand the market in different emerging countries and how challenging it is for any business to enter a new market. On a personal front, my wonderful team helped me to become more diligent in finding the project data and what other sources to use to help our research. My teamwork as well as my leadership abilities blossomed working on this project. I learned how to manage time better and how to present my findings professionally and thoroughly.
